This question was never asked about Tim McVay. I wonder why some are concerned about forgivess now! I will forgive the Ft Hood shooter in the same way I forgave Tim McVay - 5 mins after he has been given a lethal injection!

As I said at the start, forgiveness doesn't mean excusing from punishment. While I think forgiveness is in order for each of us as Americans. I am a former Navy Hospital Corpsman, but I am also a Christian. So while I am grieved by the death of brothers and sisters in arms whose lives were taken, forgiveness is an essential. But this person must face punishment for his act.
