"Not a victim"...yeah, right!

She trotted out Trig when it became advantageous.

Have you heard that woman whine about her portrayal in the MSM?

And then she CUTS N RUNS from the Governors position.

"she is the Republicans number one contender for 2012"

No, actually I believe that she is not. According to this, she is third behind Hucakbee and Romney. My guess is that their gap will widen over her. Click here to go to link

I'm surprised she is in 3rd. I figured she killed her future chances when she quit on being governor of Alaska. Right, wrong or indifferent, she'll forever be labeled a quitter.

I still maintain that she is irrelevant. Her family's and her trials and tribulations remind me a lot of the Tonya Harding crew.

"All she had"

I am sure that you took my previous comment about "babe" as being factious.

She was not a potential national figure when selected. Her political critics failed to credit her for what she achieved in the eyes of Alaskans.

On the national stage, she struck a cord in many by challenging Washington corruption and special interests which drain America's freedoms and wallet.

I disagree with Spencer's assessment that she is the #1 Republican candidate for 2010; I believe there is no dominate candidate/choice. Her public political image among conservatives is much akin to that of Obama's popularity during his early campaigning.

I believe she is sincere in her goals of energy independence is a cornerstone of the economic security and progress that every American family wants and deserves, Health care, education, and reform of government to reform political antics of our national government.

I do not believe she has enough support to advance them against the wealthy entrenched and the vast organization of her opponents,

No, actually I didn't, because I agree with it. I truly do not believe she would have gotten half as far as she has if she were more plain looking.

I have not seen her exhibit any meaningful intelligence to date and I do not expect her to do so in the future. The jury is still out on exactly what she did that was good while Alaskan governor as opposed to what she tried to take credit for.

Hate the current and previous government if you wish, but she is certainly not the answer to the problem. Like I said earlier, she and her crew remind me of Tonya Harding and company -- a train wreck looking for a place to happen.

The same elements that made GWB popular a long time ago-simplemindedness that does not intellectually challenge the "base". Much like a far leftist, she promises an unrealistic America that her followers dream of. You betcha she can bring back the good old days that never really existed. You remember, when we all loved the flag and the Bible and all that.

Maxis, I think that you just hit the nail on the head. She does in fact promise an unrealistic America and that is the appeal she presents to some of those on the right. Like GWB was the person they would most likely drink a cold beer with, never mind if he wanted to start one of longest wars in US history. I guess some see her as the bespectacled and bubbly church going soccer mom from next door, and the heck with intelligence and the extremely important issues of the day when you can have someone who can quote cute folksy words like you betcha, and is willing to refer to herself as a pit bull with lipstick.

"Same as it ever was"? Or same as it never was?

Now see, Mr. Maxis. That is truly funny. Unfortunately true, but still funny. Thump that flag and wave that bible! Or is it the other way around?

And Mr. Curious with his "same as it never was"?

I told you that you boys were smarter than me.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think you guys are giving this woman far more attention than she deserves. To paraphrase someone earlier, would you be as interested if she was rather plain in her looks? Somehow, I don't think so.

Her looks surely are part of it Doc. A female politician's appearance seems to be very important to conservatives. They take great pride in it. I suspect that is another element of their simplicity. I don't expect to ever sleep with anyone I elect, so I find their appearance irrelevant.
