First, I'm sure you have indisputable proof of Michael's claims, right? Now, prove it.
Second, there certainly are soldiers who commit suicide, (and kill innocents in the process), due to who-knows-why.
Third, there is a name for soldiers who intentionally shoot themselves in the foot, leg, etc to get out of deployment. It's called COWARD.
Fourth, your claim that he saw "more trauma" is 100% BS, period. Unless you have been in combat, unless you have waxed some scum-bag Vietcong, unless you have watched your fellow soldiers die in front of you, and unless you have seen the atrocities that the enemy can and have done to our soldiers, then talk to us about "more trauma". Can you do that? I served our great country for over twenty-years, including several tours in Vietnam with Infantry platoons. I know I saw "more trauma" that will be with me til the day they put me in the ground. How do you handle it? Suck it up and keep on living, that's how!! Or it will destroy you.
Fifth, no one is forced to join the military, it is voluntary. His mistake was being ignorant, no, stupid to the fact that when one joins the military, you just might get invited to a war where you may have to kill another human being, before they kill you!! You cannot and will not experience that wearing a white lab coat in a cubicle of a hospital.
