   Obama wants to buy you a cell phone

The government launched a new program giving low-income families free cell phones along with free service. The phone features include free minutes, voicemail, and texting. Do you think it’s the government’s responsibility to bridge the communication gap between those who can afford a phone bill and those who can’t? Is being wireless a want or a need?

This just makes me SICK. Why do people feel they are entitled to have expensive items but are not willing to work for them? I do not think a person needs to have a cell phone. I understand everyone wants one but few need them. Same goes for big Screen TV's I get tired of people saving they need a 60 inch big screen. I'll bet if you look in most trailer parks you'll find more big screen TV’s per person there then in places living the "good" life up in Kingwood or The Woodlands. Why can’t people learn to buy only what they can afford? I have no credit card balance and never had. If I can't pay for it this month I don't buy it. I have lots of wants but a limited budget. I sure don’t think I should be paying the bill for others to have something they don’t NEED.

This is why I am embarassd that I voted for him. A cell phone is a want not a need!

NO, NO, NO Every day I find one more thing to dislike about this administration. We cannot sustain this kind of foolishness and yet how do we stop all these government giveaways? I'm sure Obama knows someday when he isn't President(or does he) these freebies will be taken away from these people. Doesn't matter that it is for our own good the party in power will be the bad guys. Next it will be free internet for the poor.
I AM SO SICK OF THIS, not to mention how scared I am for our kids. What will be left for those who don't feel they need everything given to them on a silver platter?

You have got to be kidding me, my god enough entitlement is enough.
A cell phone, and we pay for it! I have a hard enough time paying for the one I have

Ahhhh .. but there is a method to his madness! With cell phone in hand, ACORN is but a text away to tell the mind-numb robots when to vote, in which election, and for whom. It's off to the funny farm we go ... hee hee ... hah hah!

Obama thinks he is Robin Hood. He is going to level this imaginary playing field and in the process there will be two classes, the rich and the poor w/benefits. This reminds me of the old lady who lives in Hud apartments and the neighbor boy breaks into her apartment and robs her of her TV and the video games she had for her grandchildren. When the police asked the boy why he did it (because he had TV's and Better video games), He replied "She is too old to have that stuff, she'll be dead soon anyway". If you are making a dollar more than the next fellow are you too rich? Has our society just become so greedy that nobody is allowed a luxury? Why do we need big brother telling us how to live or even how to spend our monies or where it should go? Doesn't my family deserve to inherit what I work my tail off for? Why should I give it to another family? Shouldn't it be my choice?

If the phone was only able to call 911 or 1 emergency family member I might understand this.....I said might. Other than that no way no how. The government can not afford half the stuff it does not....but this would be over the top and the regulation would be just another layer of make work projects..... at some POINT the government has to stop spending money
