   The next mayor of Houston does anybody care?

We got 4 diverse candidates. It's really a crap shoot as to who will win. Is anyone going out to vote? Does anybody care?

The mayor's races in Houston, past and present, make me very glad that I live in Montgomery county.

Don't get too comfortable. Once they use up all the money they have in Houston, they'll be trying to annex you. Of course they won't give you anything in the deal, just lighten your wallet.

Any doubts about that, talk to the folks in Kingwood.

As an early supporter of Annise Parker, I do care. She is by far the most experienced candidate in the race. With her 20 years in the oil industry she brings that relationship with her. As city controller she knows alot about where money gets allocated in the city and what cuts must be made to address the lower revenue the city is currently receiving. Of course there are those out there who will oppose her only because she is gay.

Now I'm curious to see who Peter Brown will endorse. Morales will probably throw his support to Gene Locke as is evidenced by his prayer circle last night asking God to protect us from Annise Parker's "lifestyle." What a goofball.

Yes... he is that stupid. Here is a transcipt of the prayer.

“Lord give us victory. We're going to fight as conservatives,” said Story. “We're going to see our city and our state and our nation turn around. God, it's not over. We can't stand by and see the lifestyle that's assuming she's going to win take office.”

I think Ms. Parker will win this during the Dec. 12 runoff. She's got charisma similar to Hillary Clinton (a nice fresh face and smile) despite her lifestyle (as if it matters).

I agree with you about Ms. Parker's chances and think she could be a pretty good mayor based on what I have heard her say.

Hillary Clinton, a nice fresh face and smile? Okey dokey, everybody sees something different I guess. After all, some folks like brussel sprouts.
